Tamekia Ashford Nixon
Principal & Chief Communications Officer
Tamekia brings over two decades of experience in communications, public relations, multicultural marketing, community engagement, media relations, and crisis management.
Before founding West Media Group, she served as Vice President of Marketing for the Detroit Regional Partnership, a leading economic development nonprofit.
She also played a pivotal role in rebuilding the Detroit Health Department as its Director of Communications and served as a trusted liaison with the mayor’s office.
Tamekia's extensive experience includes leading communications strategies for public relations firms, directing messaging for congressional campaigns, and managing community engagement strategy for initiatives like the White House’s Affordable Care Act, National Institutes of Health, Detroit City Council and McDonalds.
